Bordiehn’s Restaurant was born from a development aid initiative, following our work in vocational training with the GIZ. What began as a response to a need, providing real opportunities for young people from rural Egypt, became a long-standing center for hospitality, craft, and quiet transformation.

Since opening in 1991, many of our staff have grown with us from the very beginning, shaping not just a restaurant but a lasting culture of care, precision, and purpose.

Set in the calm of the Egyptian desert, Bordiehn’s stands as a working model for what hospitality can become when it is built on trust, training, and time.
